Cooking Method for Plain Rice

Absorption

  1. Bring 1 cup rice and 1 1/2 cups water to boil, stirring occasionally.
  2. Lower heat, cover, and simmer 12-15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stand, covered, 5-10 minutes. Serve.

Gentle Boil

  1. Bring 1 cup rice and 6-8 cups water to boil, stirring occasionally.
  2. REDUCE HEAT AND BOIL GENTLY, uncovered, 12-15 minutes.
  3. Drain well and serve.

Rice Cooker

  1. For each cup of rice add 1 - 1.5 cups water. (Water needed varies with rice cookers)
  2. Allow the rice to cool slightly before serving.

1 Cup of rice = 200g 1 Cup of water = 350 ml
